Frequently Asked Questions
Counseling is right for anyone who is ready to take back their life and their relationships with loved ones. We have all been to the doctor when our bodies are not functioning at 100%, but all the other parts of our lives need just as much care. Just because some problems aren’t as visible as a broken finger does not mean they go away on their own. Sometimes you need an objective voice to offer support, insight, and new strategies in order to find long-term peace.
When we go through difficult seasons, especially when are going it alone, it is important to have someone there to support us. At my Yukon relationship therapy practice, my clients are reclaiming their lives and their relationships with the ones they love. During our counseling sessions, I will be able to provide you with new insight into your problems to help you see things from a different angle. My goal is to give you new strategies so that you can make the changes that you want to see in your life and your relationships with family members.
My Yukon relationship therapy practice accepts HealthChoice, Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal, Healthcare Highways, WebTPA, and Kempton Group
My fee is $150 per counseling hour. However, I offer a $30 discount for clients that can come in for appointments before 3:00pm.
Our counseling sessions will range from 45 to 90 minutes each. They vary depending on preference, availability, pricing, and insurance contracts.
Typically, my clients attend one counseling session per week. However, if you are feeling a great deal of distress, twice a week is recommended.
Length of treatment varies greatly between each client. There is no easy answer to this question, but in reality, therapy will last until you feel that you no longer need it. Once you feel that you have completely taken back your life and your relationships with family members, I will celebrate with you and send you on your way. My goal is to work myself out of a job!
I have developed a great deal of experience working with couples and with family members of addicts. I do accept many other types of clients here in Yukon, and we do great work together. However, some of my best relationship work is done with family members of addicts and with couples.
My relationship therapy practice is located in Yukon, Oklahoma just south of I-40. You will be turning at a light onto Health Center Parkway, which runs along the south side of the Canadian Valley Hospital. After you pass the hospital, you will continue on Health Center Parkway, which turns left at a roundabout. Our parking lot is the last left before 10th street, right behind Target. When you pull into the parking lot, my building is straight ahead. The building has the number “600” in small vertical numbers near the top of the building. Inside the door is the waiting room where you will relax until I invite you into my office at your appointment time.
Emergencies happen. A family member might come down with the flu, or the roads might be covered in three inches of ice. Because I understand that you cannot always make it to the Yukon office, I do offer online counseling sessions. Online counseling sessions will be held over Google Meet, which is a secure telehealth platform.
My Yukon relationship therapy practice has openings during the morning, lunch hour, and evening in order to best meet the scheduling needs of my therapy clients
My relationship practice is HIPAA compliant. This means that I will treat our time together just like your doctor does. I will not go and tell my work partners, my spouse, or my dog about what we talk about during our counseling sessions. There are times in which I will need to release confidential information, but this will never be done without you knowing beforehand what will be released and to whom.
I cannot prescribe medication. I provide counseling services online and at my Yukon office to couples, to family members of addicts, and to many other types of clients.
Never! If you start working with me because you want to see certain things change, then I hope we discuss those things every session until you find peace. I will show up to each therapy session ready to work with you towards your goals.
